PayFluency is a UK compensation clarity tool operated by PayFluency Ltd (company number 17375686), registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR.
Calculator inputs — salary, pension rate, student loan plan, RSU details, bonus figures — are processed entirely in your browser. No input data is transmitted to our servers or stored anywhere outside your device.
If you create an account, subscribe to Pro, or purchase a report, we collect and process the following:
Account information: Your email address and authentication credentials, managed by Clerk (our authentication provider). Clerk stores this data on our behalf as a data processor.
Payments: Subscription and one-off report purchases are processed by Stripe. PayFluency does not store your card details. Stripe holds payment and transaction records in accordance with their privacy policy and PCI DSS obligations.
Email updates: If you subscribe to our mailing list, your email address is stored by Loops, our email platform. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated data — page views and usage patterns. This contains no personally identifiable information and no cookies are set for this purpose.
Google Analytics: If you accept our cookie banner, we also use Google Analytics 4 to understand traffic sources and aggregated usage patterns — for example, which pages are visited and how people move through the site. On the calculator, comparison and trajectory pages, the figures you enter are encoded in the page’s URL so you can share or save your results — Google Analytics never sees this: the tracked page URL has those query parameters stripped before the page-view event is sent, on every page load and every in-app navigation. Google Analytics only runs after you accept the cookie banner; if you reject or haven’t chosen yet, it does not load at all.
We use Sentry to monitor application errors. Error reports may include technical context such as browser type and page URL. They do not include calculator inputs.
Vercel Analytics sets no cookies. Clerk may use cookies or local storage to maintain your authentication session if you are signed in — this is essential to sign-in and runs regardless of your cookie choice below.
Google Analytics sets cookies only if you accept our cookie banner. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again. If you reject, or close the banner without choosing, no Google Analytics cookies are set and no Google Analytics script loads — the site stays cookie-free apart from Clerk’s essential sign-in session. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage for this site, which brings the banner back. We do not set any advertising cookies.
PayFluency does not sell, share or transfer your personal data to third parties.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you; to restrict or object to its processing; and to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). Contact us at feedback@payfluency.co.uk to exercise any of these rights.
Contract performance: account and payment data, processed to provide the service you have signed up for.
Legitimate interests: anonymous Vercel Analytics (cookieless) and error monitoring, to maintain and improve the service.
Consent: email communications, where you have opted in; and Google Analytics, which only runs after you accept our cookie banner, in line with UK PECR requirements for non-essential cookies.
Account data is held for as long as your account is active. Payment records are kept as required by law (typically six years for tax purposes). Anonymous analytics data has no defined retention period.
Clerk, Stripe, Loops, Sentry and Google are US-based services. Data transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards recognised under UK law.
PayFluency is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
